Online Presence 2Jason Smith is the Student Information Systems Coordinator in the Passaic City Public School District (@passaicschools) where he is responsible for the management and decision making of The District Google Apps For Education Management Console, Hapara, Schoolnet, and PowerSchool.  Mr. Smith is also an integral part of the District Registration Process where he provides direction and focuses on improving the student data, from the first day of their registration into the School District, to the academic data that while follow each student as he/she completes their educational promotion through the Passaic Public School District.

Jason is responsible for completing and managing all aspects of the following State and Federal Reports:  NJ SMART SID, State, Special Education, End of Year Course and CTE Submissions, NJ DOE Technology Survey, ASSA, School Attendance Registry, NJ DOE Report Card, US DOE Civil Rights, and other data-centric State and Federal Reports.  Mr. Smith also manages the district’s implementation and continued support for the Instructional Management, SchoolNet, and provides back-up support to the District’s Student Information System, PowerSchool / PowerTeacher.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Smith was a Technology Coordinator where helped in the Year Zero Build of the Second Largest ChromeBook Deployment in the U.S.  His responsibilities as Technology Coordinator ranged from writing Bid Specs to creating District wide Professional Development, and helping Teachers create and integrate transformative lessons infusing technology.

Before joining the Technology Team, Jason had taught 8th grade Mathematics at the Middle School in Passaic.  He worked with all levels of students in the classroom as well as on the field as he is the Assistant Head Coach for the Baseball team.

Jason also holds a MA in Educational Technology and a BS in Electrical Engineering.
